The Gulf Shores Way to Do Seafood

You’re on the Gulf Coast. You’ve got a crew. You want fresh seafood without the restaurant wait, the parking situation, or the bill that comes with feeding a table of six.

That’s what Topsail Steamer is for.

We’re a seafood steam pot shop — the only one of our kind in the U.S. You pick your Bay Bucket (fresh seafood, corn, potatoes, sausage, and our signature seasoning, all in one pot), pick it up from our Gulf Shores location, take it back to the house, and steam it in about 40 minutes. No special equipment. No prep work. No mess beyond a pot of water.

It’s a coastal seafood feast designed for exactly the kind of gathering you’re having. View our full menu to see what’s in each pot.

What’s in Your Bay Bucket

Choose Your Steam Pot

Five signature Bay Buckets, built around the seafood you love:

  • The Topsail — shrimp, snow crab clusters, clams, corn, potatoes, and sausage
  • The Wrightsville — snow crab clusters, clams, corn, potatoes, and sausage
  • The Low Country — shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage
  • The Clam Bake — clams, corn, potatoes, and sausage
  • The Shark Bite — shrimp, snow crab clusters, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes, and sausage (our most loaded pot — named after the Shark Tank episode)

Not seeing exactly what you want? Build Your Own Bay Bucket and choose your seafood, your size, and your add-ons.

Each Bay Bucket comes in two sizes: serves 2–3 or serves 4–5.

Going Bigger?

Planning a larger gathering? Ask about our Party Pot — an 80 or 100 qt stainless steel pot for groups that need more than a standard bucket can hold. [⚑ Confirm Party Pot availability at Gulf Shores location.]

How It Works

Topsail is designed to be simple. Here’s the whole process:

  1. Order — online in advance or walk in to our Gulf Shores location
  2. Pick up — your Bay Bucket is packed and ready when you arrive
  3. Steam at home — add water to a large pot, bring to a boil, steam for about 40 minutes, and serve

That’s it. No special equipment, no expertise required, no cleanup beyond a bag and a pot. Everything you need is in the bucket.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any special equipment to steam the Bay Bucket at home?
No special equipment required. All you need is a large pot — the kind most vacation rental kitchens already have — and a stove or outdoor burner. Add water, bring it to a boil, add your Bay Bucket contents, and steam for about 40 minutes. The instructions are included in every order.

How many people does a Bay Bucket feed?
Each Bay Bucket comes in two sizes: the smaller serves 2–3 people and the larger serves 4–5. If you’re feeding a bigger group, order multiple buckets or ask about the Party Pot option for larger gatherings.

Can I customize my order?
Yes. The Build Your Own option lets you choose your seafood, your size, and your add-ons. If you have preferences or substitution questions, call ahead or note them in your online order.

Do you offer options for larger gatherings?
Yes — the Party Pot is available for events and larger groups. It’s a significant step up in volume from a standard Bay Bucket. [⚑ Confirm Party Pot specs and availability at Gulf Shores.] For large event or catering inquiries, call the Gulf Shores location directly.

Is there online ordering for Gulf Shores pickup?
Yes. Order through our Gulf Shores online ordering page and your Bay Bucket will be ready for pickup when you arrive. This is especially useful during peak season when walk-in wait times are longer.

What’s the difference between Topsail Steamer and a regular seafood restaurant?
At a restaurant, someone else does the cooking and you eat there. At Topsail, you take a fully prepped steam pot kit back to wherever you’re staying and steam it yourself — it takes about 40 minutes and feeds the whole group. It’s less expensive than a sit-down restaurant for groups, more flexible on timing, and honestly more fun. Topsail is the only seafood steampot franchise in the U.S. — the concept doesn’t exist anywhere else.
